NEW CHILDREN / NEW YORK uses film to tell stories from the immigrant Latino community in New York City through the perspectives of the children. Since September 2006, we have been training youth in Brooklyn to make films about their lives and concerns, to present those films to the public, and to become leaders in their communities. To ensure that these youth stories reach a wide audience, we are also making a feature-length documentary film that closely observes four of our students, incorporating their own films into the documentary as a window into the genuine daily life and culture of their communities.
This is Bryan’s fourth film. Next year he’s attending Evergreen State College in Washington State.
