This musical drama mixes Brazilian funk and hip-hop with classical and modern dance to remake Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. As two rival gangs of drug traffickers fight it out, we witness the love between the beautiful Analidia, the daughter of the jailed leader of one of the gangs, and Jonatha, the childhood friend of the other gang captain. Both study in a dance group located exactly in the middle of the two territories, and with the help of their instructor, the star-crossed lovers hope to use their talents to escape their inevitable destiny.

Mientras dos pandillas rivales de narcotraficantes se pelean, somos testigos del amor entre la bella Analidia, hija del líder de una de las pandillas que está encancerlado, y Jonatha, el amigo de infancia del otro líder. Ambos estudian en un grupo de baile en un taller ubicado exactamente en el medio de los dos territorios, y, con la ayuda de su instructora, los desgraciados amantes esperan usar sus talentos para escapar su destino inevitable.

As a journalist, Lucia Murat worked for the most important newspapers and TV channels in Brazil. In the 80's she started her career in the cinema and founded Taiga Filmes. She is now well-known in Brazil and at international festivals for her award-winning feature films: How Nice to See You Alive; Oswaldianas; Sweet Power; Brave New Land; Almost Brothers. Her latest film is Maré, Another Love Story (2007).
