La Milagrosa follows the story of Eduardo, a young upper-class Bogotano who’s kidnapped by a guerilla group in one of the “miracle” abudctions that were so prevalent in the nineties. While in captivity, Eduardo lives with a series of situations and characters that transform his life with experiences that allow him to see the hard truth of Colombia’s social and political unrest.

La película narra la historia de Eduardo, un joven bogotano de clase alta quien es secuestrado por la guerrilla en una de las frecuentes pescas milagrosas que ocurrían en la década de los noventa. Durante su secuestro, Eduardo convive con una serie de personajes y realidades que transforman su vida, al tiempo que le permiten entender la dura realidad del conflicto colombiano.

Mexican filmmaker Rafa Lara is in love with the Colombian land. He has a distinguished history that includes the television success, At The Edge of the Law and the direction of a series of documentaries for Discovery Channel Latin America. He will also premiere two feature films in the near future, the psychological thriller, The Fifth Commandment and the romantic comedy, Red Lips. The Miraculous, the feature debut of the director, brings to the big screen an honest vision of Columbia’s past 40 years during which the military, guerrillas and paramilitaries have been involved in the conflict.

El mexicano Rafa Lara es un cineasta enamorado del territorio colombiano; tiene una destacada trayectoria que incluye el éxito televisivo Al filo de la ley y la dirección de una serie de documentales sobre América Latina para Discovery Channel. Así mismo, próximamente estrenará dos largometrajes, el thriller psicológico El quinto mandamiento y la comedia romántica Labios rojos. La Milagrosa, su ópera prima, lleva al cine una visión honesta de la Colombia de los últimos 40 años en donde las fuerzas militares, la guerrilla y los paramilitares han sido actores del conflicto.
