Alberto Luberta, the late celebrated director and political activist, enjoyed a prolific career in radio, television, and film. Luberta was a member of the 26th of July Movement in Cuba and part of the Communist Party of Cuba. He spearheaded the creation of Alegrías de Sobremesa. He has been recognized by the ICRT, the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), and the Ministry of Culture and Council of State of the Republic of Cuba.
Blanca Rosa Blanco was born in Havana. She graduated from the School of Performing Arts at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) in 1995. During her time as a student at ISA, she worked under the direction of Vicente Revuelta, Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Roberto Blanco. Considered by some the “new face” of Cuban cinema, this prolific and successful actress has starred in some of Cuba’s best known films. In addition, she dedicates her time to teaching students in film.
