It’s the late 1980s in Cuba. On an isolated ranch in a small town near Santa Clara lives Vilma, a young nurse who dreams of a better place to raise her upcoming baby, along with her disabled husband Ivan. However, neither her skills as a nurse nor as a shooter will free Vilma from her harsh reality until a natural phenomena sweeps her away and Vilma awakens in a place where it seems her dream will come true.

Son finales de los 80 en Cuba. En una granja aislada, en un pequeño pueblo de Santa Clara, vive Vilma, una joven enfermera que sueña con un lugar mejor para criar a su futuro bebé junto a su marido discapacitado, Iván. Pero ni sus habilidades como enfermera ni como tiradora la sacarán de su dura realidad, hasta que un fenómeno natural se la lleva volando. Vilma despierta en un lugar donde parece que sus sueños se harán realidad.

Marcos Díaz Sosa

Marcos Díaz Sosa (Santa Clara, 1988) is a Cuban playwright, screenwriter and filmmaker. He graduated from the High Art Institute (Cuba) in 2013, and from the International Film and TV School of San Antonio, in 2016. As a filmmaker, he has written and directed the short films: ‘Fenómenos naturales’, premiered at the Guadalajara Film Festival 2016 and awarded as Best Short Film at the Latin American Film Festival of La Plata, Argentina, 2018; ‘Rocaman’ (2017); and ‘El niño de goma’ (2021), premiered at Bogoshorts, Colombia, in 2021. As a documentary filmmaker, he has made the short films ‘Fractal’ (2006) and ‘Lo que me sé de memoria’ (2015).

Es graduado del Instituto Superior de Arte (Cuba) en 2013, y de la Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV de San Antonio, en 2016. Como cineasta, ha escrito y dirigido los cortometrajes: “Fenómenos naturales”, estrenado en el Festival de Guadalajara 2016 y premiado como mejor cortometraje en el Festival de Cine Latinoamericano de La Plata, Argentina, 2018; “Rocaman” (2017); y "El niño de goma” (2021), estrenado en Bogoshorts, Colombia, en 2021.
