Antonella Sudasassi

Antonella Sudasassi Furniss is a Costa Rican writer, director and producer. Her first film The Awakening of the Ants, premiered at the Berlinale 2019. The film was selected as the Costa Rican entry for the Academy Awards. It became the first Central American film to receive a Goya Award nomination, and to win a Platino Award. It was selected in more than 65 international film festivals and received 15 international awards. Memories of a Burning Body is her second film. As a writer and director, Antonella has been interested in telling stories centered on female characters and how they understand their sexuality at the different stages of their lives. Memories of a burning body delves into sexuality during adulthood.

Antonella Sudasassi Furniss es una escritora, directoram y productor costarricense. Su primera película, El Despertar de las Hormigas, estrenó en la Berlinale 2019. La película due seleccionada como la entrada costarricense para los Premios de la Academia. Se convirtió en la primera película centroamericana en recibir una nominación en los Premios Goya y ganó un Premio Platino. Fue seleccionada en más de 65 festivales internacionales de cine y recibió 15 premios internacionales. Memorias de un Cuerpo que Arde es su segunda película. Como una escritora y directora, Antonella ha mostrado interés en contar historias centradas en personajes femeninos y en cómo entienden su sexualidad en diferentes etapas de sus vidas. Memorias de un Cuerpo que Arde profundiza en la sexualidad durante la adultez.
