José de los Santos, a 70-year-old Colombian Pacific Coast resident and practitioner of ancestral mortuary rituals, is warned by his murdered son's spirit that he must die in peace and away from home. He embarks on a perilous journey through the jungle, defying armed groups and their curfews, in search of a peaceful death and to avoid purgatory.

José de los Santos, un hombre de 70 años que vive en la costa pacífica colombiana y practica rituales mortuorios ancestrales, es advertido por el espíritu de su hijo asesinado de que debe morir en paz y lejos de su hogar. Se embarca en un peligroso viaje a través de la selva, desafiando a grupos armados y sus toques de queda, en busca de una muerte pacífica y para evitar el purgatorio.

Santiago Lozano

Santiago Lozano Álvarez has a degree in Social Communications from Universidad del Valle Cali-Colombia and a master degree in Script for Film and TV from Universidad Carlos III, Madrid- Spain. He is currently a professor in the film school at the Universidad Autónoma de Occidente. He made several documentary shorts before his feature fiction debut, SIEMBRA co-directed with Ángela Osorio (premiered at Locarno Film Festival, Filmmakers of the Present 2015 and winner as Best Film at Cinélatino Toulouse 2016). He was part of the Cannes Cinefondation Residency in 2018 to develop “Yo Vi tres Luces Negras”.

Santiago Lozano Álvarez tiene un título en Comunicación Social de la Universidad del Valle Cali-Colombia y tiene una maestría en Guion para Cine y Televisión por la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, España. Actualmente es un profesor en la escuela de cine en la Universidad Autónoma de Occidente. Realizó varios cortometrajes documentales antes de su debut en el largometraje de ficción, SIEMBRA, co-dirigido con Ángela Osorio (estreno en el Festival de Cine de Locarno, Filmmakers of the Present 2015 y ganador del Premio Mejor Película en la Cinélatuno Toulouse 2016). Tomó parte de Cannes Cinefondation Residency in 2018 para desarrollar “Yo Vi tres Luces Negras”.
